“Oh my God!” I exclaimed as I held on to my sister’s phone, not knowing whether to be angry or bemused. The sight of what was before me was so threatening that I had an instant headache and it was as if my head was going to explode.
I travelled about a month ago for a business meeting and I stepped into the conference room, taking my seat beside my immediate boss, who is the manager, smiling broadly at him as we exchanged pleasantries. I totally lost my breath as the most gorgeous guy I had come across, came into the conference room, with his laptop. Truth be told, I didn’t hear a thing throughout his presentation, as I kept looking from his lips to his straight legs and oops, his broad chest. I jerked immediately the manager tapped me to ask what I felt about the presentation and without thinking; Although I knew deep inside of me that I was about to tell a lie, I still said it was an excellent presentation. I stepped out of the office into my car immediately after the meeting only for my car to develop a fault. Frustrated, I opened the bonnet to see what I could do after trying to call my mechanic to no avail. Just when I thought I would burst into tears out of frustration, a hand tapped my back and I hid a smile as I looked up to see my Mr gorgeous. The feel of him close to me almost made me draw him closer to me staring at him as I totally lost my composure.
Monday Express: Disy Moments
“Can I do anything to help” he asked and I quickly got myself back together, narrating my ordeal with the car. He called his mechanic and offered to drop me at home. I was a bit disappointed when he said he was going back to town the next day but his promise to keep in touch kept my hopes alive.
Right now, the reality that my sister is talking about the same guy I have been excited about in the last two weeks is both annoying and surprising because my sister has always had what she wanted when it comes to guys unlike me who hasn’t been so lucky with guys. She placed her hands on mine and told me we won’t allow him get between us; “we are twins and we should not let a man come in between us”. The sound of my phone rescued me from the mood my sister was trying to create because I was too angry to see reasons with that.
“Talk of the devil” we both exclaimed as we read our text messages with the same guy inviting us to dinner. The room was dead silent in the few hours left to our “dinner” as we waited impatiently, with several thoughts occupying our minds. At 7pm prompt, I picked up my car keys, not minding if my sister followed me or not.
We got into the eatery to be equally surprised as we saw the twin boys looking at us bewildered and I could bet they also thought we were playing a prank on them. Still surprised, we all burst into an uncontrollable laughter.
