-Those in the first three are Neymar, Lionel Messi and Harry Kane.
-Madrid suffers shocking defeat at home to Villarreal
-His value has plummeted to less than Maecus Rashford.
Ronaldo, who was recently crowned the world’s best footballer for a record fifth time is apparently reaching his decline as his abysmal performance in Real Madrid’s 1-0 home loss to Villarreal and his new value in the world of football shows.
In the match, Ronaldo had many chances to score a goal, but he did not utilize those chances properly.
Then according to football observatory figures by CIES, he now stands at the 49th position in the list of the world’s most valuable football players instead of being among the first three as expected.
It should be noted that Neymar and Messi, who he had beaten to clinch the prestigious Ballon D’or award last year are now in the first and second place respectively.
In line with that, an extract of the figures show that Neymar’s score is 213.0, while Messi got a total of 202.2 points.
Amazingly and all the more surprising, English premier league top striker, Harry Kane had a score of 194.7. which makes him the third most valuable player in the world.
Other valuable players in the list before Ronaldo with their respective scores are;
-Paul Pogba (147.5)
-Robert Lewandowski (107.5)
-Luis Suarez (128.7)
-Eden Hazard (119.6)
-Romelu Lukaku (164.8)
-Kylian Mbappe (192.5)
-Paulo Dybala (174.6)
-Antoine Griezmann (150.2)
-Marcus Rashford (126.8)
This of course comes as a disgrace to Ronaldo who scored a mere 80.4 points.
It should be noted that following Madrid’s home defeat by Villareal, there have been lots of comments on social media with lots of fans clearly stressing their disappointment in Ronaldo.
Although some football fans still have faith in Ronaldo, it would do us so much good to keep our fingers crossed to see if he can still step up on his game.
