Emre Can’s imminent departure from Liverpool could see the club land Sami Khedira from Juventus, according to reports in the Sun.
Can is expected to leave Anfield when his deal expires at the end of the season, while his fellow Germany international is contracted to Juve until the summer of 2019.
Khedira, who has been with the Turin giants for the past three years, hinted at the weekend that he wants to join an English club.
The report suggests that Liverpool have been alerted to the 31-year-old’s availability, and he is excited by the prospect of possibly linking up with compatriot Jurgen Klopp.
Sami Khedira ruled out a move to an MLS club in January and said in February that he could be tempted to return to the Bundesliga when his Juventus contract expires.
“I always think about my future,” Khedira said. “It can go in all directions. I like it here, but I also love challenges, seek them. I want to win as many titles as possible in as many countries as possible. That’s also good for your personal development.”
