Romelu Lukaku has admitted that Manchester United’s second half performance against Newcastle on Saturday is how the club should and want to play.
Old Trafford is not used to seeing particularly attacking football from Manchester United, especially this season after a run of terrible performances from the side.
It seemed as though that was going to be repeated on Saturday as the ‘Red Devils’ went in at half-time losing 2-0 against struggling Newcastle United.
However, their second half performance saw a completely different-looking side overturn the deficit and complete a famous comeback to win 3-2.
Speaking after the game, Romelu Lukaku admitted that the performance that his team managed in the second period is what they should always be aiming for.
“It’s not good for the heart when it is like this, but it is satisfying to win and the way we did in the second half was the way we should always play football.” the Belgian conceded.
“That’s what the fans want to see, that’s the way we want to play. I don’t know why we don’t always play like this but at the end of the day we won the game and we have to move on.”
