Barely days after we reported that the 2019 edition of the Big Brother Naija will be holding after 2019 elections and inaugurations, it is now confirmed that the fourth season of the popular reality TV show will hold and the producers have revealed that the location will be in Nigeria.
The Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr John Ugbe disclosed this at a media briefing held in Lagos on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.
Here are four major takeaways from today’s media briefing on one of the most talked about reality TV shows across Africa.
Nigeria is the host country
Nigeria has been announced as the host country for the season 4 of the Big brother Naija.
Audition begins next month
The CEO of MultiChoice Nigeria has disclosed that auditions for the show will hold on February 1 and February 2 in eight locations across Nigeria. This is an increase from previous editions.
He listed the locations as Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Ibadan, Benin and Enugu.
Bet9ja is this year’s headline sponsor
Ugbe added that betting website, Bet9ja, would be the headline sponsors of the new season.
Speaking on the development, the Senior Marketing Manager Bet9ja, Olufemi Osobajo said:
“Our core value in Bet9ja is changing lives of the Nigerian youth. We believe the bet ticket holds more power in changing the lives of the youth and Big Brother Naija has done the same thing changing lives of the youth in all the editions of Big Brother. This is why we are supporting.”
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returns as the host
The Channels director, MNet West Africa, Wangi Mba Uzoukwu, also confirmed Ebuka Obi-Uchendu as the host of the fourth edition of the reality TV show.
Bear in mind that the last edition of the reality show kicked off in January 2018, and had Miracle as the winner.
