The NBA finally announced the list of starters from both the western and eastern conferences for the 68th All Star Game.
As was established last year, the two leading vote getters from both conferences serve as All Star captains and are responsible for drafting the All-Star teams from the pool of players voted as starters and reserves in each conference.
For the Eastern conference, the player with the most votes was Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James for the Western Conference. Both players will draft the eight remaining players from the pool of starters in the First Round and then all 14 players from the reserve pool in the Second Round, making selections without regard to a player’s conference to form Team Giannis and Team LeBron.
The other four starters in the East include Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, Joel Embiid and Kawhi Leonard, while Steph Curry, James Harden, Paul George and Kevin Durant will join LeBron James as Western starters.
The starters were voted in by fans, players and members of the media while the reserves will be chosen by NBA head coaches and will be announced next Thursday.
The NBA All Star Game will hold on Sunday, Feb. 17th.
