I know this is our ‘first meeting’ but I am glad to be on this platform to share my thoughts as it relates to Christianity, Social media and lifestyle. So we will get to meet each other every Sunday. Do not worry, it won’t be boring.
I will be addressing our usage of Social media especially if you are offering a service or selling products.
Social media is not all about Instagram ooooo. It is all encompassing. It means any platform where you can interact with people.
Firstly, when you post about your services or products, what is your motive? Let me answer for you: it is for people to engage you interactively based on that post.
Take for instance you put up your product and someone commented “Wow, this is nice.” The correct response is “thank you” or look for other means to engage them.
For example: Thank you and we look forward to you buying.
Two things may happen: based on your response, the commentator may consider buying immediately or have you in mind; to buy later.

Don’t overlook the comment saying in your mind “and what if it is nice, why not buy?”
That is not how to win over someone to buy your product.
Or you put up a sales post and people are commenting though not to buy, the least you can do is like the comments, don’t ignore such even if you know the person personally.
Do you know how you become more visible to your audiences especially on Instagram?
It is by comments made by those following you.
Perhaps you made a post and within few minutes, you have like 5comments and you replied all, if your post was seen by just 20people before, because of those comments, the number of people that will see it will increase.
It was Scott Cook, Founder of Intuit that said
“A brand is no longer what we tell the consumer it is – it is what consumers tell each other it is.”
It simply means “The way you treat a customer will determine if that customer will bring in another customer or customers”
It is not everybody that will be happy with what you do, even if you offer the best services. That was why Bill Gates said “Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.”
This simply means be open minded. It takes patience to run a business page.
Take for example you mistakenly gave a product to a client but that was not what he/she was expecting and she came to your DM ranting but instead of you replying calmly, you also brought out the dictionary of abuse and selected abusive words, at that point, you have opened the door for the devil(lol)
This said person may go on to tarnish your brand image on all platforms and this may stop you from getting new customers. May we not trend for the wrong reasons.
Your Brand name is important, protect it.
This is a personal admonition: Don’t buy followers. This is rampant among IG business users. What is the essence of buying 20000 followers and none have ever DM(ed) you to patronize you?
It is better you grow your followers from Ab-intio (from the scratch). The best thing you can do is to run sponsored ads which will help you reach targeted audience that are interested in your service or product.
So let me stop here so that you can go to Church (lol).
I hope to see you next week.
I forgot to tell you my name: I am Paul Ilesanmi. I will tell you more about myself next week.
