–FramedWords: The Girl called Abigail
Firstly, I pray for you my sisters: may you not marry a man like Nabal, the husband of Abigail.
And for my brothers, may we not become like Nabal.
The Bible called him uncouth, churlish(stingy) stubborn, and ill-mannered (1Sam 25:3).
While the Bible described Abigail as intelligent and good-looking (beautiful). 😋.
So what happened to this family?
Nabal was a rich man; He was very prosperous—three thousand sheep and a thousand goats.
So David sent his men to Nabal, that he should give him meat.
See what David brought forward as his strong point: When your shepherds were camped near us we didn’t take advantage of them. They didn’t lose a thing all the time they were with us in Carmel. Ask your young men—they’ll tell you. What I’m asking is that you be generous with my men—share the feast! Give whatever your heart tells you to your servants and to me, David your son.'”
Will a reasonable man even without David’s strong point not give him meat? After all, Nabal was sharing meat. But no! See what he did:
“Who is this David? Who is this son of Jesse? The country is full of runaway servants these days. Do you think I’m going to take good bread and wine and meat freshly butchered for my sheepshearers and give it to men I’ve never laid eyes on? Who knows where they’ve come from?”

David vex ooooo, he told his men to pick up their swords, and they marched off to fight Nabal.
But thank God for the quick intervention of Abigail.
I am wondering how Abigail ended up with such a man 🤔.
I always avoid talking about relationship 😂 but Ehn, ladies, beware of the kind of man you marry.
Don’t marry ONLY because of wealth ooooo. 😊.
I’d rather allow him to maltreat me as long as he is taking care of me. He buys me expensive clothes, we go on a monthly vacation, I am OK.
You are not OK ooooo😀😀
You need serious prayer of intercession.
So what did Abigail do?
Abigail flew into action. She took two hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine, five sheep dressed out and ready for cooking, a bushel of roasted grain, a hundred raisin cakes, and two hundred fig cakes, and she had it all loaded on some donkeys.
Then she said to her young servants, “Go ahead and pave the way for me. I’m right behind you.” But she said nothing to her husband Nabal.
Now this was David’s plan: he promised to wipe out the entire family of Nabal.
Ha! See what Abigail said of her husband when she got to David’s place:
My master, let me take the blame! Let me speak to you. Listen to what I have to say. Don’t dwell on what that brute Nabal did. He acts out the meaning of his name: Nabal, Fool. Foolishness oozes from him.(1Sam 25:23-25)
My beloved brothers, one prayer I believe we should always pray for, in marriage will be that “our wives will not regret that they married us”
The statement of Abigail showed that she regretted marrying Nabal.
It is either Nabal got arrogant after he became wealthy or he has been like that from onset.
Well, the bible never mentioned Nabal as someone that believed in God but a believer should not be stingy.
You need to read that story for yourself.
Could you believe that when Abigail returned home and told Nabal what she did, Nabal immediately, had a stroke. 🙆
By that time he was sober, and when his wife told him what had happened, he had a stroke and lay paralyzed for about ten days, then died, for the Lord killed him.
Beloved, marriage is good that is why if we want to marry well, we must marry right.
I know that there are cases where the husband will suddenly change after wedding; he starts misbehaving and doing things he perhaps did not do while in courtship.
And ladies, know your worth.
Immediately David learnt of Nabal’s death, he took Abigail as his wife.
Sharp man😁😁 he saw what she was worth for the Bible had described her as “intelligent and beautiful”
