-Paul Ilesanmi: LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH
This week, we will talk about a couple in the scripture, oya open your Bible to Acts 18:2 ,
Prisicilla and Aquilla are couple I call “The Power Couple”
They were devoted to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. They went about preaching the gospel alongside The Apostle Paul.
Apostle Paul wrote in Rom 16:3 “Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus.”
We can also call them “The travelling couple” because they went about preaching the gospel of Christ.
They were even tentmakers! (Acts 18:3)
I imagine the unconditional love in the family.
I can imagine them having Bible study together, sharing rhema, going out together.
I hope nobody reading this is of the mentality that a woman should not be allowed to preach or even mount the altar to teach God’s word.
I can imagine Mummy Prisicilla teaching the new creation realities the same way Apostle Paul was teaching it through his writings to the Churches
They were both in agreement as regards their ‘vision’
Paul, you are not married so don’t say anything about marriage.
Wait, let me say the one for today.
It seems I have the anointing to talk about relationship this evening.
See, no single man or woman should marry based solely on the “I love you factor”.
Do you have the same goals?
Are your Visions aligning?
At least you must be able to come to a ‘meeting point” which can determine if the relationship will work.
I believe every lady or man should have discovered purpose or what they want to do to some extent even before they think of relationship.
If Priscilla was not in agreement with what Aquilla was doing, the gospel of our Lord Jesus will not have been effective with them, same as Aquilla.
I know you love her, but do you support her vision? Does she support yours?
You do not want to be a Pastor’s wife, but you already know that He will become a Pastor, so do you see that “You cannot walk” together except both of you agree?
Your Church has requested that your home should be used for “House fellowship” but one of you refuses to agree because you do not want people to “Come to your house”
“How can they come and start house fellowship in my house?”
I built this mansion with my hard earned money.

See what Apostle Paul said of Priscilla and Aquilla:
“The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the *church that meets at their house*.” 1Cor 16:19
Dear Fiancé, She said that God told her to always feed the poor monthly, but you are saying no, you cannot be feeding the poor every month.
Dear Fiancee, he said that God told him to always organize a weekly meeting for believers but you are saying no, they should go and read the Bible for themselves.
Before you married her, you knew that she will focus on building her career but you are already hinting her that when she gets married to you, she will become a full time house wife, because you will be paying her salary!
I believe Prisicilla and Aquilla must have settled some issues between themselves before they got married.
You cannot marry someone and now hinder them from fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives.
Do you want to hinder God’s work?
Do you want to hinder God’s destiny for her/his life?
For the three years Apostle Paul preached in Ephesus, He stayed and worked with them.
“Honey, our Spiritual father will be in the city for three days, and I want him to stay with us”
“Ehn, nooooo, let him go and lodge in an hotel, I do not have time to cook for anybody”
Such statements show that the couple has not come to agreeing on certain things.
I know someone may be thinking that “Why should it be that it is the wife I am referring to”
Well, the same applies to the man (do not come for my head).
He has several cars and landed properties, in fact, he is one of the hottest guy in town, but will he allow you fulfill God’s purpose for your life?
She is beautiful, in fact, her beauty strikes like thunder, but will she allow you carry out God’s mandate over your life?
May the Lord guide us…
